About The Artist
Mark Pericot is a multicultural person who was
raised between Europe and the Caribbean. Since he was a young boy,
he had the influence of the Pericot family, well known in the
cultural and art field in Barcelona, Spain
His enthusiasm for photography started at his adolescence with the
first camera he received from his mother. This is where he
discovered the magical world of photography as he knows it to be
today
He found his passion many years ago which inspired him to travel the
world for a specific photographic subject, the Doors of the World.
His inspiration is colonial and medieval doors captured between
Central America, South America, the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, The
Middle East and Asia.
“It is a real pleasure walking alone in an old village with my
camera in hand capturing a small part of the culture in different
places of the world!”.
Through the photography of doors, his work emphasizes the
architectural details, historical marks and civilization.” Each door
has its own personality reflecting its heritage. A door is something
intriguing; like a portal to a different dimension. Behind each
door, there is a universe of possibilities, choices and
arrangements. It also demonstrates its cultural background”.
His photography captures a sense of warmth and beauty. It provides
visual and emotional satisfaction for those who appreciate and
evaluate the art. “I want people to feel inspired through my
photographs and smile at the beautiful world of doors”.
